Summary

The 9FGV0841 clock generator is a very low power PCIe clock family of IDT. It has an integrated output termination that has an output impedance of 100 ohms for direction connection to 100Ω transmission lines. This device has an 8 output enables for clock management, 2 different spread spectrum level in addition to spread off and 2 selectable SMBus addresses.


This 8-output, 1.8 V PCIe Gen 1-2-3 clock generator generally saves 32 resistors compared to standard PCIe devices. It provides maximum power savings where its outputs can optionally be supplied from any voltage between 1.05 and 1.8V. In addition, it has programmable output amplitude, which allows tuning for various application environments. It has an external 25MHz crystal that supports tight ppm with 0 ppm synthesis error. Typically, this device has 62mW power consumption with reduced thermal concerns.


This PCIe data channel is a high-speed serial communication interface, which is the core of PCIe timing and the gating factor in system performance and reliability. The different versions of IDT clock generator (1.5V, 1.8V, and 3.3V) allows designers to power it from the same power supply used to power up the FPGA or System on a Chip (SoC). The IDT PCIe generators are offered with integrated terminations to allow direct connection of the outputs to the transmission line, thus saving significant board space.
